My Rob Love Has Limits

Am I alone in this?

As much as I **puffy heart***Rob, I just can't bring myself to see "Little Ashes"
(where he portrays Salvador Dali)

or

"How To Be"
(where he portrays a dorky misfit.)

Sorry - but my Rob will always be THIS Rob:
What about you guys?
Are you more uber-fans than I am?

  1. I think that this means you love Edward, not Rob. I can't wait to see him in different roles other than just a drop dead gorgeous vampire - he needs to explore his creative side and get funky with his roles if he's ever going to break out of the teenage-vampire mold!

  2. That second picture looks a little too much like the hair extensions sketch in the Twilight Director's Notebook.

Honestly, I didn't think much of him as Edward until I saw the movie and saw him in action and he WAS Edward. Maybe the other movies will be the same way--I plan to see them both.

  3. I want to see those other movies, I loved him in Harry Potter, and I don't want to always think of him as Edward. I rather fantasize about him as Robert. Robert is HOT!

  4. Unless that first pic is Rob with chocolate syrup on his lip that he wants me to lick off, I will have nothing to do with it. I love me some Robward but its a no go on seeing him as anything but sexy. No little ashes or dork-whatever for me.

  5. i was going to say the same thing as the first commenter, I think it just means you have Edward love, not Rob love. And there isn't anything wrong with that!

I, for one, can't wait to see him in other stuff!

  6. I doubt that I will see the other films. As I too am in love with the uber-strong, perfect-in-every-way, dangerous vampire, gleaming eye candy Edward side of Rob.

  7. Well, I drove 2 hours ... took a vacation day to see How To Be. Awesome freaking time and movie...but I can't bring myself to watch Little Ashes. Not because I don't want to see Rob, cause I do...but I jsut can't handle seeing him kiss a guy...I am not that artsy and it will ruin my mental image of us together so...you know...that's where I draw the line.

I love ROb, I want to see him do other stuff and I'll watch him do it. But, I think like another person said..you love Edward.

  8. I'd see both movies... dorky misfits are hot.

I couldn't imagine two guys being 'together' as hot until I saw Brokeback Mountain... so yeah... I'll check out Rob getting it on with another guy... I'm a sicko.

  9. I'd have to agree with some of the previous comments maybe it's Robert's portrayal of Edward that you like, I'd love to watch both those movies as I think Rob has some serious talent :) bdw.. there's also another movie or rather I think it's a UK drama he takes part in called The Haunted Airman... he seems to look quite yummy in that one ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruvcY8O3tCU

  10. You love Edward! Me too. But I will probably see the other movies simply because I love movies, period. And why not watch ones with Robert in them :)

  11. I love Edward a little more than I love Rob, but I will see "Little Ashes." I *hate* the moustache, but I don't think you're supposed to!!! The clips I've seen from he and the other male lead when they're on the beach seem really sweet, so it has promise. I'm not sure about "How To Be." The dorkiness factor does turn me off a bit.
And I agree with Angelica that "The Haunted Airman" seems interesting.

  12. I'm more of an Edward Cullen fan and not so much a Robert fan. But, I have to admit that Robert Pattinson does sometimes photograph beautifully = ) .

  13. omg thank you for saying that, I cant even see him playing that role in little ashes. My love also has limits. I guess im a Edward Cullen fan not really a Rob fan. Did I just speak blasphemy?

  14. Oy, I think you're right: I'm in love with Edward.

As the T-shirt says: "I'm married. He's fictional. This can't possibly backfire."

Little Ashes people: have you been warned about "the Tuck"??????

  15. oh and Angelica: i watched The Airman clip: I'd definitely see that!!!!

  16. Can't do Little Ashes. And he looks like someone got after him with a Sharpie and drew on a mustache. I would probably see the dork movie.

  17. I may be able to do the dorky misfit Rob, but definitely have to draw the line with Little Ashes. I do not want to see him loving/crushing/whatthehellever with another man. That would just ruin my perfect Edward image.

  18. I'm ok with the tuck - it's all a part of the character. It's not like he gets off on doing it in his spare time :)

I bought a copy of the How To Be soundtrack and actually got a signed poster by Rob!!

  19. I knew about The Tuck, but like Cristin, I'm a sicko so I'm looking forward to it. But I'm a Dali fan too, and I'm totally fascinated by these parts of his life.

I wonder if the line between the "Edward Only" and the "Total Rob Experience" camps is that maybe the EOs saw Twilight before they fell in love with Rob, and the TREs were in love with him before they saw Twilight. I fall into the TREs--I got hot flashes for him during Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

  20. I doubt that I will see the other films, if for no other reason that I live in a small town. I know though that I love Rob and Edward equally. In fact, When I saw GOF I said to myself "that actor has something" No joking. So in future I will see more films with Rob in them.

  21. Dude, I totally want to see little ashes.
But then again, I am Dutch, we are all known to be a perverted ;)
(I also want to take this moment to point out that my blog isn't supposed to be read as male-diva, but is referring to the Maldives.. Very much female over here!)

  22. Yes HHS-I have been warned about the tuck

  23. I really want to see How to Be. I think he looks adorable as a dorky misfit! And I'm sure Little Ashes is good, but I don't think I could bear seeing Rob make out with a guy. Repeatedly. With that dorky mustache. That's just too much.

  24. All I can say is...I love your new profile picture!! Made me laugh!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh no thank you. I love Edward and Edward only. I don't even think I like Robert Pattinson, just Edward. It's the whole suspension of disbelief thing. There is a perfect man out there.... Edward.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Just watched The Haunted Airman... it's worth watching for you Robert fans ;) and the Edward fans alike I'd say.

  27. will see HTB (dorky misfits ARE hot : ))
will not see LA because I could not care less about Dali.

  28. You did hear that he was going to be completely naked in the Dali movie, right? That right there makes me want to see it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Really? Your killing me. Can you please take those last two pics off? It just ruins the Rob experiece. Thank for this blog though!!

  30. Hi - I can't wait to watch "Little Ashes". I love art house films and this one really seems to be very well done, having received rave reviews in the Independent film circuit. Unfortunately it opens in early June in San Diego, instead of early May like the rest of the u.s. from the clips I've seen, he seems to embody Dali. What I like about Rob Pattinson is that he doesn't seem to be content playing pretty boy roles. Sure he was hot as Edward Cullen in "Twilight", but he's more than just that. He's Dali in 'Little Ashes', he's pathetic loser Art Freeman in 'How to Be' (which I saw and thought was okay - it's got dry British humor and is a bit slow), a shell shocked WWII vet Toby Jugg in "The Haunted Airman", and as the adorkable Daniel Gale in "The Bad Mother's Handbook". Twilight aside, my favorite role was Daniel Gale.

The water scene in Little Ashes is just beautiful - I don't care if it's man on man! It looked hot!

  31. See I love Salvador Dali. Although in Robert's interview for GQ it sounded as though that movie was/is a bit of a mess. I'd like to see it anyway.

And I CAN'T WAIT to see 'How to Be'. I have a thing for dorky awkward boys as well as impossibly hot, perfect, tortured vampires. :)

Give them a chance. You might be pleasantly surprised.

  32. OMG, i'm not the only person who loves akward dorks? YES!!!! My friends always make fun of me for that!!! So not fair.

  33. Regarding the last pic of our yummy Rob, the only thing I can think of to say about it to quote the latest fan fic I'm reading:

    ***

Messy ‘I just sexed you in the woods’ hair: check

Mesmerizing green pools of lurvely: check

Schmexy ‘I’d rather do you than waste that precious time shaving’ stubble: check

  34. Since seeing the Twilight movie I have searched for all things Rob and have watched the Haunted Airman (brilliant), the Bad Mother's Handbook (quirky), have seen How To Be (hard to watch and not cringe but good) and can't wait to see Little Ashes Friday!!! I guess I like Rob more than Edward. Go figure!

  35. I saw How To Be. Movie was a little slow, but not bad, and RP was great in it, absolutely adorable! Now, I love, love, love him, but I cannot see Little Ashes. Don't wanna see him mackin' on another guy, even if it is just acting.

  36. What the F happened to his HAIR?!

  37. I rented How To Be and loved Rob in it so much I bought it! had to ship it from England but....it was so worth it-He was absolutely adorable and these kinds of roles display his talent and versatility...yes, there is more to him than just that face & I love him even more after seeing him play a frustrated dork
